Few reasons why you need Digital Marketing Strategy in 2017

People still believe that having posted on social media platforms and doing emails exercise

Here and there makes them perfect in Digital Marketing!! (to my surprise many big CEO also believes the same) No issues, but without having a clear Strategy for your business to grow on Digital platform- where are you heading?

One of the research shows that still 55 % of the companies don’t bother about the digital strategy as it is irrelevant to them. They are happy that they have Digital presence!

If you don’t have a strategy, or maybe you want to review which business issues are important to include within a strategic review, we’ve set certain most common problems, that in our experience arise if you don’t have a strategy.

 

  • You don’t know where to head (directionless)?

If you don’t have specified goals, you really don’t seem to work in that direction or

Don’t put enough resources to reach goals neither you evaluate any of them. They don’t know for what they have online presence – i.e. for getting new customer, for branding , online presence or building deeper relationship with existing customers etc. which really  is needed to go ahead.

 

  • How do you know your online customer or online market share?

Knowing your online customer and behavior pattern is the most important thing to devise any communication with them. Unless you know them how do you interact ? and without interacting with them  you may underestimate their demand for online

Services. More importantly, you won’t understand your online marketplace: the dynamics will be different to traditional channels with different types of customer profile and behavior, competitors, propositions and options for marketing communications.

 

  • Existing Brands and start-up competitors will gain market share

If you’re not devoting enough resources to digital marketing or you’re using an ad-hoc approach with no clearly defined strategies, then your competitors will eat your digital lunch!

 

  • You don’t have a powerful online value proposition

A clearly defined online customer value proposition will help you differentiate your online service encouraging existing and new customers to engage initially and stay loyal.

 

  • You’re not integrated (“disintegrated”)

Everyone agrees that digital media work best when integrated with traditional media and response channels. If worked out in convenient chunk – it will go less effective and the real purpose will not be solved.

 

  • You’re not optimizing

Every company with a website will have analytics, but many senior managers don’t ensure that their teams make or have the time to review and act on them. Once a strategy enables you to get the basics right, then you can progress to continuous improvement of the key aspects like search marketing, site user experience, email and social media marketing.   • You need to keep up or stay alive every time

If you study the top brands they are more dynamic and always adopt newer technology to keep their online audiences happy.

So,if you’re one of the companies that doesn’t have a digital strategy yet? Well, I think the two simple alternatives for creating a plan may suggest a way forward:

Start with a separate digital marketing plan defining transformation needed and making the case for investment and changes to your digital marketing

Then, following approval, create an integrated digital plan which is part of the overall marketing plan – digital is fully aligned and becomes part of business as usual.
